Thomas: This week Thomas' favorite questions are "Why?" and "What time is?" He also loves to say, "Watch me, Mommy! Watch me!" Things are happening on the Thomas front! Somehow, within the last three weeks, Thomas has been staying in his bed after being tucked in! I think he has finally turned a corner and no longer feels the need to constantly come out of bed, be upset and cry, turn on the light and keep playing, or ask for more water or food or cuddles. Ten months of work has finally paid off! Now we no longer have to put up the gate to keep him in his room every single time, just a couple of times a week, if that! Other than that, he stays in bed. Amazing.

Sophia: She is starting to stand unassisted for a few seconds at a time, once as long as 20 seconds! Today we went to a place called Amaya Papaya, which is a place for kids zero to five to play. It was so noisy and crowded, but it didn't phase her a bit! She happily crawled around and explored things and seemed to like watching bigger kids playing, especially on the mini trampoline. She also seemed to enjoy the crawling tunnel -- she thought about it for a few seconds and then crawled right in to get to me on the other side. We did this a few times, and then she wandered off into the chaos to play with some toys. She felt so comfortable in the hubbub! Today I caught her eating popcorn off of one of Thomas' art projects and I said suddenly, "Sophia!" She started and stared straight at me! And I swear she looked guilty! She certainly knows what her name is, and she responds to it. When she's crawling towards the cat drinking fountain, I can stop her in her tracks just by saying her name. She'll stop, sit down and look around at me, which is just the pause I need to hustle her away from it. I'm constantly amazed how different Thomas and Sophia are! At that age, Thomas would never have left my side in a noisy, crowded place, and he never responded to his name when he was zeroed in on something, either.
