Thomas 2 years, Sophia 4 months

Sophia is 15 pounds, 12 ounces at her 4th month checkup yesterday! She also measured out at 25 inches long. She's getting so big and round! She's wearing some 6-9 month clothing already! She can also hold her head up well during tummy time, and in fact fusses if we leave her reclined for too long. She keeps trying to sit up! She also coos adorably, makes spit bubbles, reaches out and grabs toys, and for the last 5 nights, slept from 10pm to 8:30am without waking up for a feeding once. I don't know how it happened, but boy am I excited! Now we just have to work on Thomas' nighttime wake-ups and maybe we can get some sleep around here!

Matthew came home! He stayed for a few days and then had to go off to recurrent training. Fortunately, that is in Sanford, about 35 minutes away, so we have already been to see him once for lunch! If we're very lucky, we will see him every other day that he is training.

Thomas' vocabulary and verbal skills are growing daily. He says things like "stop sign there" and "more cracker please" and "up hill!" Did I tell you that he can now even say his own name? He used to refer to himself as "Tom Tom," but now he can say "Thomas!" And he's growing more independent and really testing boundaries lately, i.e. do I really have to hold Mommy's hand when we cross the street? What happens if I don't want to go to bed? Let's find out! He's not my compliant little boy anymore! Ah, memories.

Matthew gave Thomas a haircut a few days ago. He did a great job! If this flying thing doesn't work out, we know what our backup plan is! We distracted Thomas from what was happening to his hair by putting a Thomas the Tank Engine DVD into Matthew's laptop. He's getting to be quite the fan. He can name a lot of the engines and plays with his motorized Thomas and James for hours. He also likes it when I sing "Ode to Gordon" or any other train-related songs.
