Hello everyone!
I'm trying something new -- posting Thomas updates on the web so as to leave everyone's inboxes alone. I'm trying to keep these posts private, instead of being public domain so I can say whatever I like without worry about broadcasting to the whole world. I plan to post an update every Tuesday with a few pictures, and I think I've set it so that people can leave comments, so feel free to chat! And again, if you think of any friends or family who would like to have access to these updates on our family life, tell me their email address and I'll add them to the invite list. So we'll see how this goes for a few weeks, then reevaluate and see how it works for everyone.
So, last week was pretty busy (for us leisurely people). We celebrated Mom's birthday at a Japanese restaurant (two in fact! yay!). We had fabulously fresh sushi and hot lunch boxes, so delicious! We also did a bit of shopping and a bit of Borders-ing -- though these days, it means that one person endlessly wheels around a grisling Thomas in his stroller while the other one "relaxes" with a cup of coffee and a magazine in the cafe, eyes reading a magazine while ears remain pricked listening for baby cries. We're endlessly strategizing how to maximize our magazine-reading time -- feed baby at home then drive and read in Borders cafe? Feed in parking lot then stroll for an hour then read in the cafe? What is the best way to synchronize Thomas Asleep Time and Magazine Reading Time? Such a conundrum.
A few days ago as he was sitting in his bath, Thomas used his hand to lift his foot up as high as it could go. It was the first time he really noticed his foot as a plaything. And last night as I was putting him in bed after his 3am feeding, I put him down into his crib on his back, and he promptly rolled over onto his front. Twice! He pushed himself up and smiled as if to say, Wow, did I just do that? That was fun! It was pretty exciting for me, too.
This upcoming week will be a busy one. Monday, Matthew will be flying out to start his trip, Tuesday is Thomas' four month checkup and my seminar, and I go back to work on Wednesday and Thursday. Mom and Dad will graciously babysit at that terrible hour of the morning, but I'll be back by 2:00pm. I'm nervous about going back to work, but a little excited, too. Will I have forgotten what we do at work in the four and a half months I've been off? What were my strategies for getting a flight out on time? How do I work an oversold flight? What is the overweight limit for bags? How many naps can I take? WHAT time do I have to wake up?
So, is there anyone out there who would like to continue recieving Thomas Updates by email? Or do you prefer this version? Post a comment or send me an email! I hope you are all well and happy!
